There is a larger section of slot machines, sports betting and table games, more table games in the center, then a smaller section of slots (all smoking areas) and then there is a separate non smoking area. The place does get smoky at times but it doesn’t bother me. There are other hotels in the area which also have shuttle service. We stay at The Inn (the hotel on their property) which offers free shuttle service to and from the casino. The Inn was wonderful.My husband and I have gone to this casino several times now for a weekend getaway. Still love the atmosphere, food, and majority of staff. Our bar tab was well over $500 for 3 days and it took a lot to get a buzz🤦🏼‍♀️. But there was another guy in high limits bar who was very rude and made it a little less fun for my husband who would rather drink than gamble😂. Gary, the bartender was fabulous and well as Jess. Paid $10 for a tiny and I mean tiny cocktail - two sips. Only if you sat right inside of high limits could this happen and the amount was limited. Before this trip, it didn’t matter where you sat you could get free alcohol. I usually play in high limits or right outside of high limits (same denomination). I love to smoke while gambling but it isn’t a deal breaker however, they do not really have a place setup for smoking (you have to go outside and you can’t take your drinks). First we realized that it is non-smoking. They have so many machines, generally extremely friendly staff, very clean, free alcohol. It’s quite a drive for us and we usually only go on our anniversary if we have the opportunity.

I would usually rate Hollywood Casino at Charles Town at 5 stars. I used the restroom, wrote this review, and got back on the road. My gambling wallet never left it’s hiding place.

I hate slots anyway, but I can confirm that I witnessed no wins during my visit. The casino obviously has no concern for its customers at all. There was no observance of social distancing even though a pre-recorded message was played about it fairly often. The seats that have appeared at other casinos during the pandemic were absent, so active players and their molls kept moving on top of other players. Add to that that the pit boss was surly, my calls and emails from the prior several days were never answered, and the table sneeze shields only existed to protect staff because there were none between players who were on top of each other.

Though I was there on a lazy Friday at the tail of a pandemic, and the place was empty, the minimums were $15. The free odds are 2-3-4, or “full odds,” which is about the worst in any casino I’ve visited. I stopped in to check out the casino since it was along my route back from a meeting, and I do like a good game of craps.
